A New Perspective

My name is Dominic Garcia and I work in high-tech PR in Austin, TX. I graduated with a degree in PR from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and I’m fascinated by social media and the challenges and opportunities it presents to PR. In addition to writing about social media, I’ll also be commenting on the challenges a young PR professional is faced with and try to offer a fresh perspective on social media and the impact it will have on our careers and profession.

I’m a huge college football and NFL fan, and as such, fall/winter tend to be my favorite times of the year. I’m fiercely competitive and a die hard Texas Longhorn fan (hey – got to support the alma mater.) I’m also a bit of a gamer, and mostly enjoy RPGs, MMOs, and I am very interested in the social gaming community, the impacts of advertising/PR in that community, and how MMO game economies can be influenced and manipulated.

Otherwise, my other main hobby is hanging out with my beautiful fiance and love of my life.
